Founded by Dr. K.M. Munshi on November 7, 1938 with the blessing of Mahatma Gandhi and several stalwarts of India’s freedom movement, over the last 67 years of its existence the Bhavan has grown into a vast network of institutions imparting quality education & training from kindergarten to post-graduate and Doctoral levels, in a wide range of areas – Classical art forms, Humanities, Languages, Commerce, Science, Engineering, Computer education, Teacher education, Mass Communication & Management disciplines. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan has been accorded the prestigious status as the Institution of National Eminence by the Government of India in recognition of Bhavan’s six decades of service in the field of education, culture and human well-being.

Established in 1961, with the objective of providing professional education in Communication & Management disciplines, the institute has 54 Constituent Colleges spread all over India with Head quarters at Mumbai. Bhavan’s College of Communication and Management, managed by Bhavan’s Thrissur Kendra, is one of the Constituent Colleges conducting Diploma and Post-Graduate Diploma programmes, and short term job oriented certificate courses.
